Meet the family behind Las Olas Taqueria

In 2007, Matt and Julie Burke realized their dream to open a “taco shop” in nearby Exeter, New Hampshire, one of their favorite area towns.

In December of that year, as Matt was on a ladder hanging their new restaurant sign, townspeople were driving by, honking their horns in anticipation and support.

In this moment, they knew they had made a great decision.

On January 8, 2008, the doors to Las Olas Taqueria in Exeter opened.

From that point, the community support has been unwavering and overwhelming.

Soon after, Las Olas Hampton and Las Olas Wells opened in equally welcoming, family friendly communities and to the same enthusiasm.

The entire Las Olas team understands that our communities and customers shape who we are as a restaurant and business.

The mission to offer a “Clean Place of Eating” encompasses all that is Las Olas: our food, customer service and place in the community.

Las Olas has always been and will always be a restaurant that serves the community as much as it offers a great meal. We strive to be a place where families gather to eat and where our young people join us to work.

In addition to our work as a restaurant, Las Olas community outreach focuses on children, schools and community building. Our contributions, sponsorships and support of local programs help make our communities special places to live, work and visit.

We are committed to helping those less fortunate not only with both nutritious, delicious food but also with financial support.

Las Olas understands our role as a member of the communities and our part in supporting and enriching area families, children and programs.

From school plays, football or softball teams, or science programs, Las Olas loves supporting the efforts and enthusiasm of the students and families in our communities.

As well as our local work, in 2012 Julie and Matt began charitable work in Latin America with children and animals.

With close family ties to Central America, this work soon developed into a 501c3 not-for-profit organization. Nicalove has since grown into a thriving volunteer organization that supports people and animal health in Central America.

We are grateful to our Las Olas patrons for their help in supporting all of these efforts through donations, drives, and volunteer efforts.

We are proud to be a part of Exeter, Hampton, Wells, and the world at large.

Las Olas welcomes you to join us!

Community Recognition

We're honored to have been welcomed so warmly by our Seacoast communities since 2008. While we focus on serving great food and supporting local causes rather than collecting accolades, we're grateful to have been recognized as "Best of NH" by New Hampshire Magazine, earned the "Best of the Seacoast" distinction, and received the support of so many loyal customers who vote with their appetites every day.

These recognitions inspire us to keep doing what we love: serving fresh, flavorful food while giving back to the communities that have given us so much.
